It created fertile soil near the banks which allowed for farming and it also provided means of tratransportation and the obvious use of a near by water source for drinking, cleaning, showering, etc

The floods brought wealthy black soil onto banks of the Nile River, then it became more possible for the farmers to grow their crops. The Nile was also a transportation from place to place.
