If white wool (W) is dominant over black wool (w), can two sheep with black wool produce an offspring with white wool? Explain your answer.

    This is the exact answer:

    No, the offspring of two black sheep cannot have white wool. Since the black wool allele is recessive, both parents have to be homozygous recessive (ww) and so do not carry the dominant white wool allele. The only allele the parents can pass to their offspring is the black allele.
