    Greatest powers decided to use an imperialist approach as a response to the 1873-1896 Crisis which put Laissez-Faire and Free Trade approach to an end and give arguments in favor to use gunboat diplomacy, protectionism and military interventionism in vast lands in Africa, Asia and even in America to assure the access to resources and markets for domestic exports.

    The extreme nationalism and influence by military leaders were only a consequence of the policies in favor of imperialism. Revolts for independence occured mostly after World War II.
