This cartoon is a nineteenth century illustration of a parede held in July 23, 1788. The parade was organized by New York supporters of the Constitution, which was yet to be ratified by the state of New York. Hamilton's name is displayed under the ship of state float because he was one of the most ardent advocates of the Constitution, as it proven by his work known as the Federalist Papers.
