    The Virginia Declaration of Rights is a document written in 1776 to proclaim the natural rights of men, such as the enjoyment of life, liberty and property. This document largely influenced the United States Declaration of Independence (1776) and the United States Bill of Rights (1789). George Mason initially wrote ten of the first 13 articles first drafted, Mason was a politician highly influenced by the English philosopher John Locke, who defended the natural rights to Life, Liberty, and Property, therefore, being consider the "father of liberalism".
