The Zoot-suit riots was as a result of the fact that most Mexican - American immigrants are aginst the war that was currently going on (World War 2).

In order to register their disdain, many of these immigrants wore zuit suits. The zoot suit was a flashy wool suit that was made from material that was rationed heavily during the war. And its fashion message suggested to many American citizens a disdain for the war effort.
