Should the United States have returned to a foreign policy of Isolationism after World War II?

this sounds more of an opinion-based question. in my opinion, it has both its pros an cons. pros are that we can better develop influence abroad, stronger allies, etc. while the cons are that the US could be a mediator of peace, stay neutral, etc.
