The Constitutional Convention (1785) held place in the Old Pennsylvania State House in Philadelphia, it had at main purpose to review The Articles of Confederation and ended up debating the how the new government should be formed.

    Correct matched descriptions:

The Articles of Confederation: The first government of the United States that established a central government with some powers but gave most power to the states.

The Articles of Confederation was the first written constitution for the United States after becoming independent from Britain, the fear of a central authority led to give the states sovereignty, and the central government had little power, it had the ability to make treaties but lacked the power to pass taxes and regulate commerce. This was the main issue that was going to treat The Constititutional Convention.

The Great Compromise: A plan that stated there would be twolegislative houses: one with population-based representation and one that gives each state equal representation.

The agreement reached after the debate for The Virginia Plan (where states with larger population would have more number of votes) and The New Jersey Plan (where all states would have one vote) is called The Great Compromise. It states that in the Senate all states would have the same number of seats, and in The House of Representatives each state would have a number of seats according to their population.

The Three-Fifths Compromise: A plan that stated, when determining state population, five slaves would count as three people.

States with large number of slaves wanted to count the entire slave population while states with little slaves wanted to count only free people, so the Three-Fifths Compromised stated that they would count three out of every five slaves for their total number of population, this was important to determine representation and taxation.
