DescriptionThe attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise, preemptive military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service upon the United States against the naval base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, just before 08:00, on Sunday morning, December 7, 1941.

The Japanese attack had several major aims. First, it intended to destroy important American fleet units, thereby preventing the Pacific Fleet from interfering with Japanese conquest of the Dutch East Indies and Malaya and to enable Japan to conquer Southeast Asia without interference.

After being hit by the depression, militants took over Japan

    -Oil embargo

    -Wanted China

-Needed other natural resources which did not follow military policy

-They declared war due to Japan's rising power and taking control of most of the pacific countries.

    Explanation:

Because they wanted to prevent the US from attacking Japan, they wanted to continue to take over countries in Southeast Asia,

and they wanted to cripple the US Navy
