    By the end, around 700 Pequots had been killed or taken into captivity and hundreds were sold into slavery to the West Indies.

    On the other side, Wampanoags led attacks on more than half of the ninety puritan towns in New England, destroying twelve of them and massacring about 1,000 puritans.
