Much of the manpower for the US war effort in Vietnam came as a result of the draft. A draft is a system by which able-bodied males are forced into military service. The draft became controversial during the Vietnam War.

    many young unemployed people got confirmed jobs in army

    Young people were forced into fighting a war young people are affected adversely from war and suffer from depression etc. people were sent to Vietnam without sufficient training and many died due to that reason people were forced to give service in army against their wishes, sort of dictatorship rules were followed by government making democracy much weaker avoiding the draft became a favourite sport of the youth

    1. Several arguments could be made for draft would be: Keep the national security, promotes the unity between nation's citizens and encourage the equality.

    2. Some arguments could be made against draft would be: It goes against personal freedoms, only leave devastated families and the quality of service and nation security could be compromised.
