The four cultures are the Southwest culture area and other Southwestern people, such as the Navajo and the Apache. The second will be the Northwest Coast culture area. Third, the Northeast culture area, stretched from present-day Canada's Atlantic coast to North Carolina and inland to the Mississippi River valley. The fourth one is the Plateau culture area that sat in the Columbia and Fraser river basins at the intersection of the Subarctic, the Plains, the Great Basin, California and the Northwest Coast.
