The Cultural Revolution was a chaotic mass movement in the People's Republic of China.
Explanation:
China's Communist leader Mao Zedong launched what became known as the Cultural Revolution because he wanted to reassert his authority over the Chinese government. He thought that the government was moving in the wrong direction so he began a sociopolitical movement in China from 1966 until 1976.
