Which of these was key to the American victory at the battle of Saratoga in 1777

    The answer would be the defensive line established on Bermis height where it has plain sight of the only route to Albany. The route has a single narrow passage between the ridge and Hudson river and heavily forested west side which gave a tough time for armed British Army.
