Why does the constitution separate powers among the branches of government

    So that one branch is unable to take full power.

    The reason the constitution was created was to give the people of America a voice, instead of being ruled by a single person making all the decisions. The different branches are designed so that a large group of people are able to balance their power and make decisions based on what the general public wants and needs.
