Who were the conquistadors and what did they accomplish for Spain?

    The conquistadors or "Conquistadores", (Spanish for Conquerors) were the leaders of the conquest of America for Spain. One of the main such conquests was of the Inca Peru. From Peru they extended their dominion over new areas (such as present day Chile) through expeditions.
