How would the National Road and the Erie Canal eventually contribute to the U. S. economy? to the westward expansion of trade and settlement?

    The National Road and the Erie Canal would eventually make it easier to transport goods throughout the nation, making a better economy. Westward expansion would then be made easier as the Erie Canal and National Road would provide fertile land and resources as well as allowing products to move back east.
