    The three countries tried to settle in the lands of SOuth Carolina the first to arrive were the Spanish but their settles eventually gave up and returned to Santo Domingo defeated, the french also tried but the Spanish powers in the land expelled them from South Carolina, finally after both Spanish and French left the land John Cabot claimed it for England and 130 years after that the first english settlers arrived to stay.
