Describe the living conditions in the Industrial Revolution

Both living and working conditions were horrible during the Industrial Revolution. As businesses began to grow bigger and the national markets grew, a lot more people began to migrate to the Northeast because they wanted jobs. Most people lived in the what people called the "slum" because there were so many people moving to the Northeast. People lived very close to each other and, because of this, disease and sickness spread extremely quickly in big cities and towns with lots of people.

The middle class was created during the Industrial Revolution, and allowed most middle class people to move a bit outside of the cities into better living conditions, which led to the beginning of suburbs. Although, most of the people living in industrialized areas lived in very terrible conditions because of the shortage of money and the overcrowded population.
