To conquer Magadha, Chandragupta used the strategy of attacking the borders first, then the capital city.

    Answer: Option D

    Explanation:

On the advice of Kautilya (popularly known as Aarya Chanakya), Chandragupta Maurya raised an army of the destitute and called a war against the unjust Nanda dynasty.

Then ruler of the Nanda dynasty, Dhananada, could not manage to save the kingdom of Magadha from the attack of the Mauryan army and lost the kingdom to 21-year old Chandragupta.
