    A. The group must all speak the same language

    Explanation:

In Political Science and International Law, a nation-state is a political entity that consists of the following elements: delimited territory; permanent population living within that territory; an effective government that establishes political and legal order over that population; and sovereignty, which means there is no other power above that political entity. If a state reunites all of these requirements and it is internationally recognized by other states as sovereign in its territory, then it fulfills the basic conditions to be a nation-state.

The condition of speaking the same language is not an international requirement for a nation-state to be recognized. Many multilingual countries are internationally recognized as nation-states. For instance, Belgium is a multilingual country since it has French, German, and Flemish as official languages; in Switzerland, Italian, French, and German are the official languages; in South Africa, they speak 11 different languages; and in India, they have 23 official languages. In spite of having a national population divided among different languages, all these countries are examples of internationally recognized nation-states.
