    What we know as the Monroe Doctrine was a famous policy of opposing European Colonialism at the beginnings of 1823 in the Americas.

    The doctrine was largely ignored internationally because it referred to any actions to take control of an independent state of the Country would be viewed as negative classification of the States towards the Americas.

    President James Monroe wanted to improve the US international reputation and fight against the European intervention in the Americas, because of that he and his Secretary of State John Quincy Adams pursued an aggressive foreign policy.

    They created the Monroe Doctrine that is was the first significant policy statement by the US. They stated the US as a model and protector for the other Latin American republics and they used the US strength to resist further European influence.
