Japan consists of an achipelago of 6852 islands, but only 430 are inhabited, The big islands are Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku and Kiushu. Honshu is the biggest island and known as the Japanese continent. Tokio, which is the capital of Japan, is located in the island of Honshu.
