the articles of confederation failed to grant many powers to the government. Why were these powers necessary for the american government to succeed?

    The Articles of Confederation structurally made it so that the country could not, really, act as a single unit. As a result, the country could not meet the other countries in the world on equal footing, which is problematic for trade, military matters, and more.
