So at the beginning of the religion Sumerian temples were built and made up of one-room structures, sometimes built on elevated platforms. Closer to the end of Sumerian civilization, these temples turn into what we know as ziggurat which as tall, pyramid like structures with prayer sanctuaries built at the very top
