Why were the cherkee, chickasawand other native americans forced to migrate from their homes to the indian territory.

    Many tribes were forced to relocate due to the Indian Removal Act that was made into law in 1830. This law made Native America relocate from their ancestral homes to areas to the west of the Mississippi river that had been designated as Indian Territory. This relocation is known as the Trail of Tears.
