Freedom of government. Wilson wanted a free world meaning a world built on democratic governments which were self-determined by the people of a state. Wilson justified World War I by stating the US was a beacon of democracy and by fighting the US would be the pathway to countries choosing their own government. He believed all people of the world would choose democracy so they could have a voice in their government.
