How did Manifest Destiny influence 19th Century American Expansion?

The Americans held a belief called Manifest Destiny which was a belief that they were the rightful owners of all the land.

This belief caused them to annex many lands which they thought was theirs.

Manifest Destiny, a phrase coined in 1845, expressed the philosophy that drove 19th-century U. S. territorial expansion.
