Reformers accused the church of being greedy and power thirsty.

    Explanation:

The 1300s were difficult years for the church as it made decisions that ended up affecting its reputiation terribly. First of all they started to move the papal court to different countries such as France and then back to Italy just for political reasons, something criticized by the mass. Later they started to collect taxes and charge for their clerical services which made them seem like greedy by turning the services into a paid job instead of a voluntary action inpired by God. Finally, The church reputation was devastated by the schism provoked by the presence of up to 3 popes ruling at the same time due to problems to make the former popes resign.
