    Answer is C. They wanted aztecs land and riches. The goal for any traveler at the time was to either achieve God, Gold, or Glory. For this particular instance Spain wanted more land so it can be more powerful. With each new environment, there is a chance that is has gold. So they stayed and tried to find it too. Before Cortez arrived, Spain didn't know what lived there, so they had no intention of enslaving Aztecs
