Florida is one of the founding members of the Confederacy. However, it also had citizens who are pro-Union and anti-Confederate. Its number increased as the war progresses.

Florida is an important supply route for the Confederate army. They provided food and salt to their soldiers. But, the Union soldiers operated blockades around Florida to make it inaccessible to Confederate supporters.

When the Confederacy fell, Governor John Milton committed suicide. He'd rather die than become a part of the Union states.
