Number of Maryland house of delegates

The Maryland House of delegates has 141 delegates elected from 47 districts. It is the lower house of the legislature of the state of Maryland. In the Elections of 2014 for the office of Maryland house of delegates there was no change to the majority control of the House of delegates. While the Democratic party maintained its control over the chamber, the party sustained a loss of 8 seats. Their total seats dropped from 98 to 90 However they maintain a considerable advantage over the Republican party which despite a gain of 8 seats only control 51 seats up from 43.
