What purpose did the stamp act congress serve

The stamp act was to make sure that American colonists would pay tax on everything they used (paper, playing cards, newspapers etc ...)

It was also to make sure that American colonists would pay their fair share of taxes.

It allowed the british government to benefit from the colonists taxes.
