The Magna Carta stated that the King was not above the law (C). The Magna Carta was a unique and original document for its time because it outlined and limited the powers of the monarchy as well as ensuring a number of rights. In addition it was unique because it placed the monarchy below the law not above it signaling that the monarchy must abide by the laws outlined in the Magna Carta.
