Discuss the statement "Genuine freedom presupposes democracy and equality," in light of what you've learned about the French Revolution.

    This statement is the commonly held belief of rebels during the time of the French Revolution. People would only achieve true freedom, democracy, and equality if the leaders of their country would be totally changed based on what people actually need for themselves in their society. Freedom cannot be achieved if there are still past rules and regulations governing their country, and thus it shall also be altered and changed to fit their specific situation.
