    Again PinkFloyd's answer is incorrect. The outbreak of Bubonic plague in the Byzantine Empire was a horrific occurence as many thousands of people died (A - is the correct answer) but spared the lives of the court and the emperor. While Justinian was affected, he did survive the plague.
