Blogging is having a greater impact on political and social discourse because average individuals have gained notoriety and have become important voices in media through their blogs. Because it takes little money to start a blog there has been a proliferation in the number and types of voices that have become involved in major political and social discourse. These are a few ways in which blogging has expanded the number of actors in the media space and has influenced political and social discourse.
