Do you think the statement below was written by a Federalist or Anti-Federalist? "In the compound republic of America, the power surrendered by the people is first divided between two distinct governments, and then the portion allotted to each is subdivided among distinct and separate departments. Hence a double security arises to the rights of the people. The different governments will control each other, at the same time that each will be controlled by itself."

    The federalist who supported a two level of governance. The anti-federalists did not support a central government but were against because they feared it would turn tyrannical like the British monarch. prominent anti-federalists were the likes of George Mason.
