    the middle class especially merchants tend to support the strengthening of central royal power because citizens of twons and cities had strong local goverment thefore they wel less depended to the king in comparission to the knights for exemple who were more directly depnded on the kings rule, we must remeber that as is stated in question that power back then was decntralized
