Just like any big corporation in this country, corporations like to use their wealth and power to influence politicians and policies to their benefit. Multinationals operate in many different countries, so they have interest in the operation, production and consumption, which includes dealing with labor laws, environmental impact, taxes, etc. Every country is different, but the interest of the corporation is usually the same ... profit.
