In Calvinism, who are the "elect" and what is believed to be true of this group?

    The elect were a group of people whose destiny was already written that they would go to heaven. According to them, all their sins were washed away with Jesus' death, which means that they could sin as much as they wanted and they would still go to heaven because they were the chosen ones. This was an extremely faulty aspect of Christianity.
