How did mass media affect people in the United States

Mass media effects the United States by changing the way they think for example if you watch a violent cartoon as your only cartoon you might start to think violence is OK but if you watch a cartoon about friendship you might be more friendly than people that watch violent cartoons and since Us is the richest country in the world almost everyone has a tv or iphone making it a lot worse.
