John Locke stated that every individual was born with a blank state as a mind ("tabula rasa" in Latin) and that everyone is born with innate knowledge and ideas and that the only way to acquire these concepts are through experience and from sense perception. John Locke was an English philosopher and physician regarded as one of the most influential Enlightenment thinkers and is known as the "Father of the Classical Liberalism."
