How did the Gold Coast achieve independence? Describe the government after independence

The Gold-Coast achieved independence by passing a motion directing the government to demand independence from Britain. In 1958, after the achievement of independence, the Ghanan government made it possible to arrest anyone who suspected of working against the state. In other words their government became very strict and lawful.
