Why did movie theaters become an important source of entertainment during the Depression?

    Well, for one it was cheaper than theater, but delivered almost the same feeling. The financial part is an important matter in my eyes, because theater was farely expensive, but still liked. Movies built up on that, they took the likable aspects and substantially lowered the price.
