    William McKinley was nominated by the Republicans with a platform that recommended imperialism - rule by an emperor while Willima Jennings Bryan was nominated by the Democrats with a platform of free silver. During on the day of election, the Republican group pretended that free silver would end U. S prosperity and success that’s why McKinley won the election with an enormous victory in the urban areas. Consequences of imperialism in 1900 are, Western Nations controlled over most of the globe. The Europeans were convinced and forced to accept the modern or Western ways, the customs and beliefs are re-evaluated by the colonial people, created many political problems. European nations distorted many traditional political units and integrated rival people under sole government that tried imposing firmness, solidity, and order where local disputes had existed for a long period of time.
