B. Iraq had been an ally to the United States and Europe for many years.

DIraq was allied with the Taliban, but it was not responsible for 9/11.

    One of the main reasons why the US invasion of Iraq was controversial was that " C. Many did not agree that Iraq presented a terrorist threat," since it turned out that the Iraqi regime was holding "weapons of mass destruction" turned out to be false.
