    South Asia is commonly considered a Subcontinent because although it is not as large as a continent it has some characteristics and is called "sub" because it has cultural, economic, and political traits compared to other countries. Another reason is that it is such a large area of land, with India, Pakistan and other countries being classified as part of this position
