How did missionaries affect Native Americans in New Spain?

They cause chaos in the tribes when they converted a trib member to a different religion the tribe would banish and disown the tribe member but not the missionaries cause it was a tribe members like resitens I guess u could say that proved they were worthy and loyal to the tribe
