After an employer has narrowed down résumés, they usually bring in 10 or fewer applicants to interview.

    If your question is whether this is true - this is true! Actually 10 applicants are rather rare - it's more common to invite around 5.

    The reason for this is that it costs time (and therefore money) to interview the applicants, so the employers want to limit this cost.
